  1. Can find no information on the “sold separately” deodorizer. There’s a place to insert it, but no info on how to purchase it. Help?

    1. I’m glad it is not just me. I found something on Amazon. They have “Diaper Pail Deoderizers” that are square and look like they might fit.

  2. I just purchased this and emailed support as the lid just stays open. It never closes. I tried multiple sets of new batteries (rechargeable and non-rechargeable) but I keep getting the same result. I suppose mine could be defective but I read the same issue on Amazon.

  3. There is no information about the sold separately deodorizers for this product. Anyone know what kind and where to purchase them?

  4. Have to touch the bar to get it to close. It is set to automatic. Instructions say I can be 7.8 inches away wave my hand over it and it will open. Lid will also close after 5 seconds. This does not happen. I’m taking it back to Costco tomorrow. It had two things to do open and close with a wave of my hand and it couldn’t do that. I am disappointed with this trash can.

  5. I bought this can from Costco less than a month ago and it just worked for less than two weeks!
First the batteries died in less than two weeks, and after that it started doing wired motions and lighting! I changed batteris three times and every time it stopped working in a day or two. The sensor finally went down and manual press doesn’t work eaither. So not useful at all! It ates like 24 AA batteries and worked for three weeks! Such a waste of money.

Also their support email seems fake! And when I email them it doesn’t deliver!

  6. Exact same issue I have. I am using rechargeable batteries but they only last a day or two. I was going to look and see if I could a wire in a larger capacity battery or an AC adapter. I got it on sale at Costco for $29 but I think i should have bought the more expensive one at sams Club for $49.78 that has many positive reviews.

  7. Mine only worked for 3 days! Opens lid after I close it & then it quit opening period. Tried resetting it and new batteries. Does not work! drove 180 miles round trip to get it! Very frustrated.

  8. I see the comment about the lack of deodorizer information, and the suggestion about the diaper pail deodorizer – did the diaper pail work?, or has an address been found to purchase one?

  9. Called the Company directly to place an order for the deodorizer. They do admit you can use any grocery store deodorizer or diaper pail deodorizer – but they do have a set of 3 for $9.99. I just ordered them over the phone with a company rep. at 800-354-5605. Should be receiving them in about a week or so

  10. We obviously have had this for a while. I’m very upset about the electronic side of the trash can. After about a month the battery door must have come off and went into the actual trash bag without us noticing this. Who knows how long before the battery door dropped off but I guess the batteries started falling into the trash. The lid was not opening or closing so I took the lid off and noticed door and two batteries gone. I asked around and I was told I’m the repair man. So, I checked the instructions and I didn’t see anywhere to put tape on the battery door. Btw, I also checked the current and trash bag before it and no battery door! To be honest I have a hard time taking things back to the store. Is not their fault. If I had to do it all over I would get a different can. I still think very highly of the Costco products. I would like to order a battery door if it’s possible. Any ideas?
