The scoop

If you’ve been craving (near) restaurant-quality Italian at home without the hassle, Costco’s got you covered with this Ventera Ranch Chicken Piccata. This prepared meal brings that classic lemon-caper flavor straight to your dinner table with minimal effort required.

This kit comes with tender chicken cutlets in a bright, tangy piccata sauce featuring real capers and fresh lemon notes. Everything’s pre-portioned and ready to heat, making it one of those lifesaver meals for busy weeknights when you want something that tastes like you actually cooked.

The quality here is pretty solid. The chicken stays surprisingly tender when you follow the heating instructions, and the sauce has that authentic brightness you’d expect from a good piccata—not too heavy, not too salty. The portion size is generous enough for a family dinner with sides, though you’ll definitely want to add some pasta or rice to stretch it further.

  1. For the amount of chicken there should definitely be 2 packages of the lemon caper sauce. One isn’t enough for all the chicken. just saying. Maria Taylor

  2. This is the second time we’ve eaten this. First was without issues, however one package of sauce is not enough for 6 chicken breasts.
The second purchase was not so good. The bad news is, it made both of us ill during the night. Horrible headache, stomach cramps, sweating and feeling like a fever. We ate nothing else that would cause food poisoning. I will be returning the package to Costco and disposing of the other 3 pieces.

    1. Oh no, Pam, that sounds awful – so sorry you both went through that. Definitely return the package to Costco and let them know what happened, and it’s probably smart to toss the rest rather than risk it again. We haven’t seen any recall notices on this one, but please report it to Costco customer service too so they’re aware.
