Chicken fingers and Costco’s food court are classics you can never pass up, and now, you can get them both in the same place. Costco chicken strips are officially available at warehouses nationwide, and the response from shoppers has been overwhelmingly positive. Keep reading to hear what we thought!
After a few months of being in select locations, Costco has officially approved the chicken strips for nationwide distribution.
The Costco chicken strips join several fan favorites at the food court, including pizza, hot dogs, ice cream sundaes, and other yummy treats.
The chicken fingers basket comes with five crispy tenders and a side of sauce for $6.99. The chicken strips are on the bigger side, and the sauce is reminiscent of Chick-fil-A’s delicious sauce.
Shoppers have flooded social media with praise for the chicken strips, complementing everything from the portion size, sauce, and pricing.
Instagrammer Costco Savvy wrote there was “no way” she “was leaving without trying them.” After taste-testing, she wrote, “They’re crisp on the outside and definitely filling.”
One person commented on her post, sharing, “Ooo this is a great option for my kids! I’m surprised they’ve only started offering these.”
Another social media influencer, TastesLovely, added that the “strips are BIG.” Even though she waited 20 minutes for her order, as many other Costco members were ordering the strips too, she added the chicken strips were “thick and meaty, light breading, great seasoning.”
@therealkirklandking went to Instagram Reels to share his experience with the Costco chicken strips, sharing a video of him trying the new menu item.
In the caption, he wrote, “Costco just dropped new chicken strips!!! Someone check on @chickfila if there was a @costco drive through it would be over.”
So, are the Costco chicken strips here to stay on the menu, or just a temporary item for the wholesaler? As of now, there is no clear answer.
Tasting Table reached out to the Costco customer service team online, yet the representative didn’t have a clear answer as to how long the chicken strips would stay on the menu.
One thing is for certain, though: these chicken strips are making waves in a good way. Make sure to head down to your local wholesaler and try out the next best thing at Costco’s food court!
Today we got to try the new chicken fingers at the Costco food court, and I have to say, we were pretty impressed. They could have easily cheaped out here, but they didn’t. You get large-sized chicken strips with a good amount of breading that isn’t overly excessive, plus a dipping sauce that’s actually pretty tasty, if a little on the salty side (which tends to be a Costco habit).
The chicken is 100% real breast meat, not processed nugget filler. Good texture overall, though on one of them a few bites felt slightly off. We wouldn’t go as far as calling it woody, but maybe it was a thinner section that got overcooked in the fryer. Now, we’re not saying Raising Cane’s has anything to worry about (shout out to our faves – call us 🤙😉), but for a quick, filling protein that could honestly feed two adults or three small kids (with a side), this is a great value at $6.99.
We never thought we’d say that about anything in the food court, but these might actually fit the bill, especially next to the other chicken finger joints that would easily charge $12 or more for the same amount of chicken (by weight). Overall, we’d definitely buy these again.
