If you have been eyeing a tough, go-anywhere Bluetooth speaker, keep an eye out for the UE Megaboom 4 SE at your local warehouse. This one is built for backyard hangouts, pool days, and anywhere else you want music without babying your gear.
The UE Megaboom 4 SE is a cylindrical portable speaker designed for 360-degree sound with deep bass. It charges via USB-C, is rated IP67 waterproof and dustproof, and Costco describes it as virtually indestructible thanks to its 1-meter drop-proof build. It even floats, so dropping it in the pool should not be a disaster.
Ultimate Ears has built a reputation on durable, good-sounding portable speakers, and this SE version looks like it keeps that promise while adding some eco-friendly touches with recycled plastic in the construction. With up to 20 hours of battery life on a charge, it sounds like a speaker that can handle a full day of outdoor activities without needing to be plugged in.
The Bottom Line: For anyone who wants a tough, portable speaker that can survive pool parties, patio gatherings, and the occasional drop, the UE Megaboom 4 SE looks like a solid pickup worth grabbing while it is on the shelf.
