This recall involves Bodum 8-cup and 12-cup French Press coffee makers with replaceable glass carafes, including the following models:
– Bistro
– Brazil
– Caffettiera
– Chambord
– Crema
– Java
– Jesper
– Kenya
The Bodum name appears on the frame and inner lid of most models, and is engraved, along with product warnings, on the glass carafes. Additional photos and model-identifying information are available on the recall website.
Immediately stop using metal spoons or other metal utensils to stir coffee in the glass carafe. Consumers with a recalled product should register with Bodum USA to receive a free plastic Bodum stirring spoon and warning label reminding users not to use cracked or damaged carafes, or metal spoons to stir the contents of the glass carafe, which can damage the glass and lead to breakage during use.
