A new sweet treat is hitting the Costco food court menu, perfect for cooling down on hot summer days.
The new Costco food court item is already making waves with shoppers, so it may be worth checking out the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae today.

Known for its reasonably priced food court menu and the iconic $1.50 hot dog combo, Costco is now adding a new item to its dessert section of the menu.
The Strawberry Shortcake Sundae will roll out to select locations nationwide, joining the lineup of rotating specialty sundaes at the wholesaler.
This includes the Double Chocolate Mint Sundae and the Caramel Churro Sundae that were released earlier this year.
The Strawberry Shortcake Sundae
The Strawberry Shortcake Sundae features strawberry soft serve layered with a strawberry topping and soft shortcake pieces sprinkled on top.
This is different from Costco’s previous strawberry sundae, which was vanilla ice cream smothered in strawberry topping. The shortcake sundae features strawberry ice cream and a strawberry topping to pack the flavor into every bite.
The fun spin on the nostalgic dessert will join the lineup alongside the Ice Cream Sundae and Ice Cream Cup, with the wholesaler charging $2.99 for the dessert.
It’s 50 cents more than the standard sundae, and a dollar more than the plain cup.
Customer Reactions
Customers are already raving about the new Costco food court item, posting on social media their thoughts and reviews.
One fan page @costcohotfinds, called the dessert one of its “Top 3 of all time.”
Another joked they needed to renew their membership to try out the sundae, while another penned, “I’m putting my shoes on right now!!!!”
Some are even buying in bulk, with a member writing, “I’ll take two. One for now and one for later (hidden in the freezer).”
Others are just glad the strawberry ice cream is back.

How Long Will it Stay?
Similar to other seasonal sundaes, the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae will be in Costco food courts for a limited time. However, Costco has not publicly announced how long the sundae will be on food court menus.
Some Costco shoppers have also claimed online that their local warehouses are still serving earlier seasonal flavors, too. It may be a little bit before warehouses nationwide are selling the sundae.
As for past seasonal options, the Mint Sundae appeared in February and was replaced by the Caramel Churro Sundae in April.
Only time will tell how long the sundae lasts, so it may be worth making a trip down today and tasting the blend of strawberry ice cream, topping, and shortcake all in one cup.
