Does Every Costco Location Sell Wine?
Due to state laws, not every state sells alcohol. To sell alcohol, you need a license, and for some states like Pennsylvania and Maryland, it might not be worth it.
If you’re lucky enough to live in a state that sells alcohol at your Costco, you might want to check out some other restrictions. Some Costcos do not carry hard liquor, so you’ll only be able to find beer, wine, and hard seltzer. Other Costcos have a limit to their alcohol as they only carry beer that’s less than 6% alcohol by volume (ABV).
Do You Need a Membership to Buy Wine?
Other restrictions have to do with your membership and whether you can purchase alcohol without a membership or not. This also varies between stores as a result of state laws.
Currently, some states that carry wine and do not require you to have a membership include Arizona, California, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Minnesota. However, it is always best to double-check with your local Costco to see what they carry and if you need a membership to purchase.

The Best Costco Wine Under $30
If you enjoy drinking wine, you know that finding a favorite is more important than buying the most expensive bottle in the store.
The first wine I tried was at a neighborhood wine tasting that my mother took me to, and it was a glass of Barefoot Moscato. Even though it’s one of the cheapest wines you can buy, it is by far my favorite. I enjoy it more than a bottle that costs upwards of $80. As Costco stores promote, we think getting bang for your buck and enjoying your purchases is more important. If you’re with me and want to explore more affordable wines from Costco, check out this great selection!
