COSTCO CANCELS MULTIPLE MEMBERSHIPS

For those of you who use multiple memberships for resale. If you have not already received it. Costco has been sending letters to multiple membership holders. They have updated the t & c as of april 5th. The new  t& c prohibits more then one membership as stated below.

"Costco reserves the right to treat businesses with the same or similar addresses or with identical, similar or related ownership as a single business and as such, limited to a single membership. Costco reserves the right to refuse, decline, or cancel a membership at any time."

The previous version only stated "Limit one membership per household or business."

Any one receive one of these letters? What's your game plan going forward?

We hadn't heard about this. Why would someone want more than one membership - is that if there is a purchase limit per member, this is a way of getting around that?

Yes, that's exactly the point to get around the limits while still following the guidelines from costco.

Gotcha - then this would seem to create quite an issue for resellers.  Maybe have to team up with other local members to form some sort of buying club?
