The scoop

Selling for $49.99 on Costco.com right now.

Normally sells for around $60 elsewhere.

The EKO 47L/12.4G Motion Sensor trash can has a fingerprint resistant stainless-steel finish, and the black resin rim and lid offer a sleek contrast.  Full manual mode option. The soft close design provides a quiet, gentle closing. There is a built in deodorizer holder to help prevent unwanted odors. The removable polypropylene liner has a trash bag stabilizer cut in to prevent bag slipping down in to can.  Requires 6 AA batteries.  Uses standard 13 gallon trash bags.

  1. Don’t buy this. Lot of bad comments about this model out there. Battery drains very quickly. I had tthis for about 1-2 years and it started acting up.

  2. Same problem as PG above. Worked great for a few months then the panel lights started to randomly flash. Replaced batts worked ok for a while maybe two weeks. Would not open or close. New batts, worked again

  3. Same problem as PG above. Worked great for a few months then the cover began to act up. The lid opens fine when you wave your hand over the sensor, but instead of the ‘soft closing’ the lid moves further back than close. Always have to manually close the lid.

  4. Same issue as the others with batteries draining rapidly after a year or so. About buying this trashcan.

  5. sAME AS OTHERS. BATTERY DRAINAGE IS HORRIBLE. 6 AA BATTERIES LAST ABOUT 1-2 WEEKS. THEN NO RESPONSE FROM THE SENSORS.

  6. The same issue. Changed the batteries and 5 days later they are dead. It was fine for almost 2 years. Strange that others are experiencing the same issue at the same time!

  7. I have been waiting for lid replacement since may 2021 you said I would be getting a replacement soon The battery will not last more
than a week. could please send my replacement

  8. Same issues as everyone else! Every time the batteries drain I have to google a trouble shoot because it never works on its own when I replace the batteries…always an issue! This time I’m getting nothing. Which is how I found this site (hoping to find another trouble shooting solution….AGAIN). And the 6 batteries every few weeks is not fun either. It would be nice if the lid could be charged instead. But then that might only last a few day. Love it when it’s working, hate it when it’s not.
