Recall Details

Item #: 1099149, 1179351, 1274360, 1356945, 1425470, 2622026

Locations: All

Affected Purchase Dates: 2017 – 2024

Hazard:

The pools use compression straps that surround the exterior wall of the pool and the support poles, which a child may use as a foothold to gain access to the pool, posing a drowning hazard. This recall affects pools that are 48 inches or taller in height with compression straps running on the outside of the vertical legs of the pool.

Remedy:

If you have an affected pool (48 inches or taller with compression straps on the outside of pool support poles), register to receive a free repair kit. The repair kit will be sent to your home at no charge and is designed to be easy to install, eliminating the need for the existing compression strap.

In the interim, customers should follow CPSC’s Pool Safely guidelines at www.PoolSafely.gov to ensure children cannot access the pool without adult supervision, including:

  • Removing pool ladders
  • Removing any objects near the pool such as patio furniture
  • Ensuring required and recommended barriers are closed and locked

I purchased 1274360 bestway pool from Costco. I don’t feel safe with the pool any more. I don’t want it even after the replacement kit. What can i do. I purchased it 2020 and no longer have the receipt.
