Spotted on the shelf with a clearance tag, the Timber Ridge Cooling Camp Chair might be worth a second look if you’re gearing up for sideline season or just want to beat the heat at your next tailgate.
This directors-style chair features a durable powder-coated aluminum frame paired with 600D polyester fabric, ergonomic armrests, and a gel-infused cooling seat that Costco’s packaging claims can cool things down by up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It also comes with a large fold-out side table and a rechargeable lithium battery included to power the cooling function.
Camp chairs with built-in cooling tech aren’t exactly common, and at a 300 lb weight capacity with a sturdy frame, this one looks built to last beyond a single season. Whether it’s a great deal really depends on how steep the markdown is compared to typical camp chair pricing, but the added cooling feature does set it apart from a basic folding chair.
Outdoor seasonal gear like this often gets marked down as warehouses rotate stock heading into cooler months, even though plenty of regions still get plenty of use out of camp chairs through fall sports and tailgating season. If you spot it, don’t expect it to stick around long since clearance inventory moves fast and isn’t restocked once it’s gone.
Bottom Line: If you spend a lot of time at outdoor games or campsites, a cooling camp chair is a neat upgrade from the standard folding chair. Would a built-in cooling seat change your camping or tailgate game?
