Flooring projects just got a little more tempting: we spotted Mohawk’s Forest View Hickory Laminate Flooring marked down, and if you’ve been putting off that basement or bedroom refresh, this might be your sign.
This is Mohawk Home’s Forest View Hickory laminate wood flooring, a waterproof-surface plank designed to mimic the look of hickory hardwood without the hardwood price tag. Each plank measures 6.1 inches wide by 47.2 inches long and comes in at 12mm thick, which includes a 10mm core plus a 2mm attached pad for easier installation and a bit of underfoot cushioning.
At $1.65 per square foot, this works out to be a pretty reasonable per-square-foot cost for a waterproof laminate with an AC4 wear rating, which is generally considered suitable for moderate residential traffic. Compared to full-price laminate or engineered hardwood, this price point is on the attractive end, especially with the added perks of steam-mop approval and a lifetime residential warranty.
Flooring tends to land in clearance when a warehouse is clearing out remaining boxes from a run, or when Costco rotates its flooring lineup seasonally. Because flooring is sold by the box and quantities can be limited once a line is discontinued or rotated out, if the look works for your space, it’s worth grabbing enough boxes to cover your square footage in one trip rather than hoping for a restock.
Bottom line: if you’re in the market for waterproof laminate flooring and like the hickory look, this clearance price makes it worth a closer look before it’s gone. Anyone else stocking up on flooring during a Costco run?
